Branches is a Church and Community Project of the United Methodist Church.

The purpose of Branches is to provide opportunity...

        *Opportunity to know Christ

        *Opportunity to become better educated

*Opportunity to make positive life choices

The ministry of Branches is composed of three areas.  We serve children, youth, and their families.

Everyday 30 children come to participate in the Branches After school program.  During the after school program children receive assistance with their homework, additional tutoring, healthy snacks, activities, and love from caring volunteers and staff.

Throughout the week over 40 youth participate in a variety of ministries geared to them.  There are discipleship groups, study hall, tutoring, and outreach events.  The youth also engage in monthly community service projects.

Twice a week adults come to Branches to learn English or work on getting their GED.  This is made possible through a partnership with Miami Dade College in Homestead.

Branches serves immigrant and working poor families in Florida City.

Branches was created by Kim King Torres in September of 1996.  Through the years Branches has grown and changed to meet the needs of Florida City and continue to share the life changing message of Jesus Christ.
