"American Idols"
Most of the time, idols in the Bible were images made out of wood or stone. They usually represented some foreign god that people would look to for good fortune. The people of God became enamored with these idols that were embraced by the foreign nations around them. God had warned His people that these idols were man-made creations and offered them nothing. Only God could provide for them and give them hope and a future. Time and time again, the people chose to follow these idols. While we might not be carrying around or building idols of wood and stone today, there are idols in our culture that oftentimes become obstacles to our embracing and following after God and His truth. During the weekends of August, join your friends at Beach as we will discover four “American Idols” that oftentimes sidetrack us or trip us up in our relationship with God. Join us as we gain God’s perspective and truth!
